From 3.00pm, arrive at our beautiful coastal retreat in Sidi Kaouki, just outside Essaouira. Settle into your room, explore the surroundings or simply unwind before we gather for our first evening together.

Over a relaxed welcome dinner, you’ll meet your fellow photographers, receive your welcome gift and retreat pack, and we’ll talk through the week ahead. It’s also the perfect opportunity to ask questions, discuss your photography goals and let us know if there’s anything we can do to make your stay even more enjoyable.

After breakfast, we’ll head into the enchanting medina of Essaouira to explore its colourful markets, bustling streets and artisan workshops. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to photograph daily life while learning techniques for capturing authentic travel images.

Following lunch, you can choose to join an optional people and street reportage workshop or spend a leisurely afternoon relaxing by the pool or enjoying the beach.

We’ll come together again in the evening for dinner and entertainment at the hotel.

This morning we’ll visit a nearby historic village, where centuries-old architecture, quiet alleyways and traditional Moroccan life provide endless photographic inspiration.

After returning to the hotel for lunch and some time to relax, we’ll head to the beach in the late afternoon for one of the highlights of the retreat—a professionally styled photoshoot featuring a model dressed in beautiful traditional Moroccan clothing. As the sun begins to set, you’ll learn how to work with natural light to create striking portraits against the dramatic Atlantic coastline.

Today is all about slowing down and seeing the world differently. We’ll immerse ourselves in Moroccan culture with a hands-on cookery masterclass, learning to prepare traditional dishes before enjoying the delicious results together.

After lunch, we’ll enjoy a relaxed photography walk around the local area, encouraging you to notice light, colour, texture and everyday moments that often go unseen.

Early risers are invited to capture the breathtaking sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean before breakfast.

Later, we’ll travel to the vibrant city of Marrakech and settle into our beautiful traditional and very beautiful Riad. Once refreshed, we’ll venture into the city’s bustling streets for an inspiring street photography workshop, discovering hidden alleyways, colourful souks and unforgettable moments.

Dinner will be at one of Marrakech’s wonderful local restaurants.

Our morning begins at the stunning Jardin Majorelle, where vibrant colours, exotic plants and beautiful architecture offer endless creative inspiration.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace—perhaps exploring the souks, relaxing in a café or simply soaking up the atmosphere.

Later, we’ll visit one of Marrakech’s hidden historic treasures before making our way to the legendary Jemaa el-Fnaa as dusk falls. As storytellers, musicians, food stalls and performers transform the square, you’ll experience one of the world’s most extraordinary photographic locations before enjoying a late dinner together.

Today we’ll leave the city behind and journey into the spectacular Atlas Mountains with a knowledgeable local guide.

We’ll visit traditional Berber villages, meet local families and experience a very different side of Morocco while capturing breathtaking landscapes and authentic portraits along the way.

Returning to our riad, we’ll celebrate our final evening together with a delicious chef-prepared dinner, sharing photographs, stories and memories from an unforgettable week.
